The massive architecture of the kitchens, located in the southern wing, contrasts with the elegance of the adjacent former monks’ refectory.
In the course of several renovations carried out in the 19th and 20th centuries, the fireplace was removed. No trace of it remains. In the Middle Ages it was probably placed in the centre of the room, open on four sides and with a masonry hood supported by columns.
